I am a senior lecturer (equivalent to assistant professor) at the statistics and data science department, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. My main focus is the development of methods for unsupervised learning of high-dimensional data. My motivating applications often originate from computational biology, where fascinating new challenges in data analysis emerge daily. Before joining HUJI, I was a Gibbs assistant professor at the applied mathematics department, Yale University, where I collaborated with Prof. Yuval Kluger. I completed my PhD at the Weizmann institute of science under the guidance of Prof. Boaz Nadler.
Main research interests:
1. Statistical machine learning
2. Manifold learning
3. Computational biology – with specific interest in phylogenetics
4. High dimensional statistics and data analysis
